The
village Grochowo is located halfway from the Tuchola town to the
Chojnice town, between Zalno and Silno villages.
The hut situated at the outskirts of the village, 800 m from the
nearest housing, stands at the waterside of Jezioro Grochowskie
by the stream Raciaska Struga being a border of two voivodeships
– Pomorskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The edge of the Bory
Tucholskie forest is distant 2000 m from the hut.
Big attractions of that area are wild animals living In the forest
and numerous cranes that prey and court on nearby meadows. During
the autumn, crane flocks consisting dozens birds gather here before
they fly away. A lake with a safe bathing place is in the nearby
village Raciaz but a historic manor-house in Wysoka village. In
Bory Tucholskie, many places are worth seeing e.g. didactic nature
footpaths in Woziwoda and Golabek, the aqueduct in Fojutowo, nature
sanctuaries ‘Kregi Kamienne’ in Odry (Stone Rings)
and ‘Cisy Staropolskie’ In Wierzchlas (Old-Polish
Yews) as well as kayak tour on the river Brda.
That isolated placement of the country-hut guarantee you peace
and quiet. Having in mind the natural attractions mentioned above
we can say it is the best place for a holiday for people who love
wandering and discoveries.
